Growing up in Albany I will always remember Harold as one of the nicest people. His pharmacy on New Scotland Ave. during the 60's was a hangout for many of us living in that area. I remember sitting at the counter at the soda fountain; Harold was always welcoming to us. Hopefully we were not TOO mischevious.
My sincerest condolences to his family. May his memory always be for a blessing.

my sincerest condolences to mr. kessler's family. i grew up in kessler's pharmacy. mr. kessler took wonderful care of me. he was always friendly and available to help me. my whole family practically lived at the pharmacy. i would even bring my nephew there so we were adding another generation of solomon's. i remember he even discovered i was taking too much of a medication after surgery when i was a teenager. he looked after me like that. again my condolencens to all his family.

My condolences to you on Mr. Kessler's passing. We are in Israel and cannot be there to pay a shiva call in person, but my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I got to know Mr. Kessler when he was taking Adam (and maybe Jared?) to karate, when Dayna was born. (He wondered why the students had to wash the floors. "Can't they afford to hire help?") During the hour we'd sit and talk, and he'd tell me about the old days with the pharmacy. I enjoyed hearing the stories, and appreciated that he was the type of neighborhood pharmacist that everyone knew and trusted. May you have the comfort of special memories, and of experiencing the support of friends and family. T'hi nishmato tzrurah bitz'ror hahayyim - may his soul be bound up in the bond of life. To the Kessler Family: I and my husband Behzad and my sisters Naomi and Cindy send our deep condolences at the passing of Harold Kessler. We grew up a few blocks away from Kessler's pharmacy and spent many childhood moments going through the store, enjoying the new air conditioning and ordering prescriptions. Later Harold faithfully attended Jr. Congregation with his grandchildren when I was also sheparding my own sons there. I am grateful to Caryn who ordered the beautiful Bar Mitzvah invitations for my boys for the Parshiot Shlach L'cha, illustrated with the spies carrying the grapes, and Miketz, with the judgment of King Solomon. Most touchingly, Caryn lovingly ran the fund raising bowling for Sol program when my son was ill and generously raised funds which he used cheerfully during his illness and afterwards for expenses. We are grateful for the fond loving memories your family has provided. Best Libby, Naomi and Cindy Jochnowitz and Behzad.
