IDA NELSON LESSNER
1915-2010
Ida Nelson Lessner , age 94 of Coconut Creek, Florida formerly of Schenectady, New York died on Monday August 23, 2010 at Vitas Hospice in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Born and raised in Albany, NY, Mrs. Lessner spent her adult life in Schenectady, NY. She and her late husband Sidney, owned and operated the former Nelson's Slenderizing Fashions in Schenectady which was located on Jay Street and later on State Street in Schenectady. The store was founded in 1946. Mrs. Lessner retired in 1972 at which time she moved to Florida. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in Schenectady.
She was married to Sidney Lessner until his passing in 1989. Loving Mother of Karen Lessner of Coconut Creek, Florida and Janet Lessner and her husband, Craig Kessler of Iowa City, Iowa. Grandmother of Mari Roseman and her husband, Brian Butler and Jordan Roseman. She also leaves a step granddaughter, Phoebe Martin and her husband Andrew and great grandchildren Kole and Sy Butler, and Dexter and Isaak Martin as well as nieces and nephews.
Services at the Beth Israel Cemetery, Abbottsford Road in Rotterdam, NY on Thursday August 26, 2010 at 1:00pm. Those wishing to remember Ida in a special way may make a memorial contribution to National Parkinson Foundation PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741-5018.
