Obituary of Florence Apt

East Greenbush, New York APT Florence " Fegey" Apt, age 92 of the Van Rensselaer Manor in East Greenbush, NY died on Monday August 23, 2010 at the nursing home. Fegey was born in Troy and was a lifelong resident. For many years she worked with her father at the former Max Apt Dry Goods Store in downtown Troy. After his passing she opened Fegey Dry Good Store which she owned and operated for many years. She was a member of the Beth Tephilah Synagogue in Troy and a former member of Temple Beth El in Troy. She loved to sing and dance and make people happy. She will long be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She is survived by 2 sisters, Gloria Bloom and Ruth Volensky both of Boston, Massachusetts and a brother Leon Apt of Ames, Iowa. She also leaves a dear friend, Marion Field of Troy, NY Services at the Beth Tephilah Cemetery, Spring AvenueTroy, NY on Wednesday August 25, 2010 at 11:30am. A special thank you to the staff of 1B as well as other caretakers at the Van Rensselaer for the kindness and compassion shown to Fegey during her stay there.
