I have many fond memories of my dear aunt when I attended Rennselaer Poly 40 years ago. Fege would provide me with religious guidance and the next minute, flex her biceps. I also know that Fege's sister, Helen, who just recently passed loved Fege Todd

Aunt Fegey, You were a wonderful person who made everyone happy and you had a redoubtable spirit. And you were not afraid of anyone including robbers. I hope that you will be reunited in heaven with Sydney. You were first in many things. You were the oldest, you were the first to drive a truck even though you were underage(and it was borrowed without asking the owner according to some sources). You were the first person I saw who did yoga but you did not call it yoga. Even when you were 60 you could stand on one leg and pull your other leg up to your head. You were the first person that I ever saw eat yogurt back in 1962 and you made me eat it. I thought that you were very old fashioned then-little did I know that you were ahead of the curb and that I would spend my 40's and 50's eating yoghurt. And you were the first person I knew that was a protestor when you and Syndney protested the treatment of Russian Jewry and went on a bus to NYC to hold a sign. I am sorry that I live in San Francisco and could not make the ceremony in time. My mother is in a coma/catatonic state and my dad-Jack died Jan. 1st but I know that she loved you, missed you and that you were a great sister. All of the grandchildren remember you brightly and the family's childhood stories of Troy. And the memory of you and your spirit will be kept alive with their children. Love, Your nephew Fred

My condolences to Feige's brother and sister. I remember Feige well from the years she attended prayer-services at Temple Beth El, including those of the morning minyan in which she participated. She was really quite an unforgettable person and in some ways was a link to yesteryear in the history of the Jewish community in Troy. Her sense of humor was quite remarkable, and I recall from the times I would visit her in the nursing home, often with my wife, that she would entertain the staff at the facility with her Yiddish songs. May her memory be a blessing. (Rabbi) Aryeh Wineman

Both my Grandmother and Mother bought their bedding fabric from Apt Dry goods. It was the only place that sold "ticking" that was made in the old Austria Hungary.I met Fegey when I went w/my Mother in the late 1960's to buy red ticking to make goose down pillows.I met her again when i started working @the Manor 3 years ago. What a joyous woman! I remember her dancing to the radio in the dining room.Fegey used a walker to get around and she would spin herself around to the music while using the thing. She could really "cut a rug".Sometimes she would sit & sing Yiddish folk songs. I loved to hear her sing. I enjoyed serving her and conversing w/her. I know she is dancing in heaven with her friends & family."Its sez bauhum" (go with Gd) my dear lady, I will not forget you.Phyllis from Dietary

I remember the Apt Family Store, a place where my mother would send me for a pair of boots or other clothing items. This store was a boon to the community. I remember "Feggy" would come to the house to collect the small payment that people could afford. I remember "Feggy" learned to speak Italian to accomadate her costomers. I also remember when my mother was sick "Feggy"came to the house to check on her. I know God has a space for "Feggy" God Bless her. Captain Patrick A. Valenti Troy Police Ret.
