Obituary of Sylvia Lapidus

Sylvia E. Lapidus, age 92 of Union Street in Schenectady, NY died on Monday afternoon, May 3, 2010 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Mrs. Lapidus was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Schenectady most of her life. She was a graduate of Hunter College in NYC. Sylvia had been employed for 29 years at Union College in Schenectady. She was a member of Congregation Gates of Heaven and its sisterhood. Sylvia was predeceased in 2002 by her husband, Arnold Lapidus. Loving Mother of Arlene Platt ( Richard) of Cohoes, NY and Robert Lapidus ( Donna) of Fredericksburg, Texas. Services will be held at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Avenue in Schenectady, NY on Friday May 7, 2010 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Schenectady, NY. in lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Sylvia in a special way may make a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice. The period of mourning will be observed at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Avenue in Schenectady, NY on Monday May 10, 2010 commencing at 7:00pm.
