Scott, Hilary, Adam,

I am sad to hear of Sue's passing. She is a fantastic lady who was in my thoughts often when I first became a mom. She was a great example of how to be a mother. It seemed so natural for her. I was 12 or 13 years old when I first met her but she left lasting memories with me. I have carried your family in my heart all of these years. Of course Hilary is frozen in my mind of a happy toddler and Adam is a smiling infant. I remember Sue's infectious smile and laugh and how her eyes lit up whenever she looked at her children. I remember what a great team of husband and wife you are. You compliment one another. I am very lucky to have been touched by your family. I admired her as a woman, a wife and especially a mother. She has a genuine heart and loving soul. I believe she touched everyone she met and will live on in all of us. I am sorry she left so soon but she definitely left her mark. My deepest sympathies to you all; I am truly sorry.

Love, Nadine Cornell

We are deeply saddened by Susan's untimely passing. Our memories of Susan are inextricably linked with our years in Ann Arbor, and particularly the evening our son was born almost 32 years ago, when Susan and Scott were the first to visit him in the hospital. Fast forward to a lovely dinner in Cincinnati overlooking Fountain Square some 28 years later...we will always remember her as the vibrant, warm, engaging, and wonderful woman she was.

Dear Scott, Hilary and Adam,

It is with fond memories and a sad heart that I remember dear Susan. We have worked together for nearly 10 years on a variety of community and JCC events. Susan was always dedicated to the task at hand and kept the focus. I enjoyed so much mentoring her during her first few years as she transitioned from CFO to CEO and took pleasure in relating her growing understanding of her unique role to the folks at JCCA.

Last spring Susan and my daughter met at the Golf event for the 1st time, and Susan made Aviva feel right at home and comfortable in this brand new relationship. When you and others spoke at the service, I could understand that Susan was always the warm accepting woman, and that her encounter with Aviva was not unique.

Our thoughts will be with you and your family and, for sure, Susan's memory and contributions will be a blessing and light for all who knew her and those who lives she touched.
