Obituary of Harold L. Baum

HAROLD BAUM 1933-2010 Harold Baum, age 76 of Troy, NY died on Saturday evening February 13, 2010 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Mr. Baum was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the first child of Anna Ellenberg and Benjamin Baum. He was educated in the Lansingburgh School System and attended Union College. He was a veteran serving in the Signal Corps as a radar repairman during the Korean War. Mr. Baum had been employed by GE in Waterford for 37 years and later was employed for 10 years at Silicon Specialty Products in Ballston Spa. NY. He was a member of Temple Beth El in Troy for 60 years and was also a member of the Knights of Pythias. He also taught Hebrew School at Temple Beth El. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Bacon Baum, his high school sweetheart. Father of Ellen Marie Kirisitz and her husband, Paul of Silver Springs, Maryland, Aaron David Baum of Brunswick, NY, Daniel Howard Baum and his wife Kelly of Jacksonville, Florida and Jay Benjamin Baum of Brunswick, NY. Brother of Roslyn Keller ( William) of Wynantskill, NY, Marilyn Byrne ( Patrick) of North Troy, Enid La Belle ( Edward) of Colonie and Sheril Dooley ( Charles) of East Greenbush, NY. Mr. Baum also leaves 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Norman, Myron and Allen Baum. Services at Temple Beth El, 411 Hoosick Street in Troy, NY on Tuesday February 16, 2010 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Beth El Cemetery in Troy, NY.
