Professor Dondes was chief among my most memorable college instructors. He led my freshman chemistry recitation held at 8am on Wednesday and Friday mornings, a very early time for a college student. He was kind and tolerant, yet held us to the highest standards and commanded respect. We admired and respected him not only because he knew his chemistry, but because he wanted us to know it too; he cared. In short, he was everything that a college professor should be but very few are. As I have for the past 20 years, I will continue always to remember him fondly.
Dear Yvie, Mrs. Gloria Dondes and family:

Behzad, Yoni and I send our deepest condolences. Behzad and I were privileged to have come to your home this December on Chanukah and to see you all in good spirits. Although I had heard a lot about Yvie's parents, it was very special to meet them. I hope the warmth of your family will continue to provide you with much consolation. This morning's service was truly inspirational. What an interesting and honorable life your father led. I know that our friendship will continue over the years. Love, Libby Jochnowitz, Behzad, and Yoni
~
Libby Jochnowitz,
Albany, New York

It is with heartfelt sympathy that I send my condolences to the Dondes Family. I have not only known Dr. Seymour Dondes as a patient, but also have witnessed his kind heart and gentle spirit. He will be truly missed by us all.
