Obituary of Allen M. Landon

ALLEN LIPSCHITZ LANDON 1944-2012 ALLEN (LIPSCHITZ) LANDON, 67, died January 21, 2012. He was the beloved brother to Joan Gross and husband Michael Jaron, Marcia Peters, Richard Peters, and uncle to Jason Peters and wife Caroline, Daniel Peters and wife Brady, David Gross and wife Sima, and niece Sarah Martins and husband Louis, and eight grand nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his girl friend Rachelle Meltzer and many loyal, dedicated, and loving friends. Mr. Landon was a lifelong resident of the Albany area for many years, was in the restoration business and was distinguished for his work by the Albany Historical Society in the Ten Broeck area of downtown Albany where he was well-known and respected for his leadership role in reviving that area. He also maintained a home in Jamaica, W.I., and received public recognition there for the historical preservation work with which he was involved. A special thank you from Mr. Landon's family to Rabbi Doctor Moshe E. Bomzer for his time and support. Services were held on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Workmen's Circle Cemetery in Guilderland, NY. Those wishing to remember Allen in a special way may make a donation to Historic Albany Foundation.
