Obituary of Charles Frank

CHARLES FRANK 1917-2009 Slingerlands, New York FRANK Charles Frank, age 92 of Hickory Drive in Slingerlands, NY formerly of Hurst Avenue in Albany died on Sunday morning, September 6, 2009 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Mr. Frank was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident. He had been residing in Slingerlands the last few years. He attended Albany Public Schools and was a graduate of Lehigh University. Charles had been a partner in Frank Brothers Flooring in Albany and later was employed as life insurance agent with Metropolitan Life. He was a member of Temple Israel, the Albany Jewish War Veterans Post # 105 and was an Army veteran serving in Africa as well as during the Anzio Campaign. He is survived by his wife, Muriel Rosen Frank, a daughter, Rita Bergman ( Nan Fremont) and 2 sons, James Frank ( Robin) of Williamsville, NY and Richard Frank of Boston, Massachusetts. Grandfather of Jordon and Samuel Frank. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by brothers, Samuel Frank, Chickie Frank, Herman Frank and sisters, Bertha Task, Gertrude Stein, Dorothy Frank and Ida Blecker. Services at Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Avenue Albany on Monday September 7, 2009 at 3:00pm. Interment will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland, NY. Those wishing to remember Charles in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205 or Temple Israel in Albany. The period of mourning will be observed at the Frank residence, 6 Hickory Drive in Slingerlands, NY on Monday through Thursday from 2-8pm with a minyan service each of those evenings at 7:00pm.
