My heart goes out to you Rick and family. Part of my experience and memory of Mr. Bieber was growing up in New Rochelle. As he passed by our house he would sometimes stop. It was always comforting to see his smile that was very happy. At a very young age he was definitely one of the parents that I always felt safe and easy to be around. My parents and Mr. and Ms. Bieber were good friends. He always showed so much interest in my life when they came over for cocktails.
I am sure his grandchildren had that benefit of his kind presence as well. What a great joy that is for them to have known him for as long as they have.

Mike and Rick's dad straddled the line between intense love for their mom and family, a quiet wisdom and guidance that kept us kids in line and pointed us into the future and a sportsmanship that introduced us to a love of baseball, Yankee Stadium (back when you used to twist your neck around the posts that supported the stadium structure to watch the game) and the New York Yankees. This was back in the day when you entered the grandstand for a buck eighty five, then tipped the usher a dollar to move into the reserved seats, many of which were empty back then. It was grand, and he made it so. I remember Seymour as wise, caring, loving and compassionate. May his memory be a blessing.
