Ruth Laven was a Woman of tremendous joy and class. The Capital Region lost a good friend upon her passing. I loved listening to stories of her late husband, Raymond Laven. Her face would light up and her eyes sparkle. It was difficult to be anything other than optimistic and fun loving in Ruths` presence. When you engaged with Ruth in Conversation you had her full, sincere attention. The Universe seems dimmer without her presence. May you rest in peace my dear friend. You are remembered often, and prayed for. To Barbara and Michael - my sincerest condolences. It was hard enough to lose this dynamic woman as a friend. It must be harder as one of her children. You and your spouses are in my prayers as well. It seems best for us to embrace her time here by remembering Ruth by keeping a smile on our faces, helping those in need, and being active in the Community. And always be ready for a good laugh. May you be comforted as are the mourners of Zion.

I've been thinking about you all a lot this past week and remembering many great times from my years in Albany. It was so great to be so close to such wonderful family! I will always have a place in my heart for sweet Aunt Ruth.

Dear Barbara and Dale,

I have wonderful fond memories of Aunt Ruth. As the oldest of all the cousins I spent many special times with Ruth and Raymond. They always told me as a little kid that I would go to the "Mean Kids dump" if I didn't behave!Luckiy it never happened, but I will never forget those words! When Chanukah came, there were 3 presents every night for eight days, one from my parents, one from my grandparents and one from Aunt Ruth and Uncle Raymond. "Those were the days my friend".When I grew up there was always the special conversations with Aunt Ruth and the first thing she would say is," How are you Anne Lynn Laven Michaelson, sweet girl"? The rital was that I would inquire about Mr. Hogan, her cat and we would continue with our conversation. I always felt warmth and love from Ruth and she made feel like a "special" neice. I will miss her and remember her with love and affection.

Love,

Anne

"Ruthie Laven" has always been a loving and warm presence in my life since I've been a young girl. She was one of the sweetest women I've ever known! I'll miss her and she'll always be in my heart. Hopefully, she and my mother (her long-time friend Esther) are re-connected someplace special.

Dear Barbara and Michael, We lived next door to your parents for many years and met you several times. We were very sorry to hear of your mother's death, and hope that it was not a long, painful one. My mom died a month ago, so I know that there's never a good time to lose a mother - no matter her age. Best wishes, Howie and Bettina Stoller
