Michael & Richard
I was so sorry to learn that your Mother passed away this week. I was planning to come to the funeral today, but my Aide didn't show up because of the snow storm. I do very little driving myself since I have problems walking. Please know that your Mom and I go back many many years of a wonderful friendship. From Hackett Jr. High, Schuyler High, Her marriage to your Dad; and his Friendship with Raymond. Pythian Bowling League, Stork BabyWash Bowling League. Week-ends in the Catskil Mountains. We were 8 couples who were friends and once a month we entertained in each of our homes with the men playing cards and the ladies knitting or doing something else. The evening always ended with Coffee, and a spread fit for a king. I could go on and on, but I want you boys to know, I too will miss her terribly.
I will check to see how long you will be here in Albany.

If I can, I'll be in touch. Hold on to all your memories and that will pull you through this awful week. Love to you both. Evelyn

I am so sorry for the loss of Sylvia! She first entered my life nearly 20 years agp when we exercised at a now closed facility. She quickly impressed me with her kindness, her willingness to help others and her love of her two boys. She personified loyalty and true friendship . I enjoyed hearing her stories about her husband, her dog, and the escapades of her two sons. In recent weeks, as she prepared for major surgery, I witnessed a quiet valor and inner strength. She was so happy to know that Richard and Michael would be here for her. I will miss her very much!

Sincerest condolences. I have had the fortune of knowing Sylvia from the JCC where, lucky for me, Sylvia took just a long as I did to shower etc.after swim class. She never left without her makeup being just right! I enjoyed our conversations to the very minute we reached our cars in the parking lot. Both in thought and deed, Sylvia was a very special person who genuinely loved her family and cared about everyone. Her work with Meals on Wheels and her concern for me and her smiles about her family spoke the beauty of a person she truly was. The locker room will never be the same for me without her. May fond memories keep Sylvia alive in all who knew her. Sincerest condolences,
Fran Weiss

Michael & Richard - Just read the paper (on-line). We are so sorry to hear about your mom. I often think back to our time in Hampton Manor, and Albany, and have fond memories of both your mom and dad. Unfortunately, we won't be able to be with you tomorrow, Karen is going in for some minor surgery this afternoon and will not be able to travel. Know that our thoughts are with you.
