Robert “Bob” K. Sperber, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on September 15th, 2019.
 
Bob was born on October 14th, 1925 in Albany, NY, to Elizabeth and Samuel. He lived in his hometown of Albany for 84 years.
 
He served in World War II, based in Germany and France, until he was honorably discharged in 1946. On September 9th, 1951, he married Ruth Danzig. The two were married for 52 years.
 
After leaving the army, he went into the fine china business with his brother, Ed. He went on to work in the insurance business, from which he eventually retired. He moved to NJ in 2009 to be closer to his two daughters and their families.
 
Bob was known for his dry sense of humor, his cartoon drawing skill, and his passion for NY sports teams, most notably the Yankees. He loved dogs and had a real sweet tooth.
 
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Sherry (Rich) Sobine of NJ and Karen (Jeff) Borowick of NY. Nicknamed “Poppy”, he will be forever remembered by his five granddaughters, Risa (Tucker) Brown, Ali (Ido) Zmishlany, Carly Schlamowitz (Michael Kelley), Abby (Jarrod) Feintuch, and Lauren Borowick (Sarig Brand), and six great-grandchildren, Rory, Miles and Teagan Brown, Josie and Laney Feintuch, and Ruthie Zmishlany. He will also be remembered by his brother, Edwin H. Sperber. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Ruth.
 
A private graveside service will be held at at the Beth Emeth Cemetery in Loudonville  on September 18th, 2019.

Thanks to Debbie Kinsella for her unwavering love and caretaking over the last few years. Bob felt lucky to form such a special friendship with Debbie in his final years.
