Sherry, I was so sorry to hear about your dad. You were always a terrific daughter to both of your parents--and a wonderful role model for Carly and Abby.

Sherry and Karen, I am so saddened to hear of your dad's passing. He was a great guy, a loving husband to your mom and wonderful father and grandfather. He always seemed like a quiet man to me. He was very thoughtful with his choice of words. I do remember one passover at Rhoda and Ed's when Sam and Elizabeth were still alive and things were going to slowy. He made a few comments that, although I can't recall the content, made me laugh. May his memory be for a blessing.

I truly have no words to describe my feelings for the man I came to care for and turned into someone I loved as my friend and to whom I loved as my own father. We shared many ups and downs but through it all I always made sure he knew how special he was to me. He will forever be in my heart. I want to thank Sherry and Karen and the entire Sperber family for allowing me to be a part of his life. You have my deepest condolences and love and prayers during this time. ♥️

I feel most fortunate to have had Bob Sperber as my Uncle. We had a special relationship on so many levels. As a young boy,he introduced me to the sports world, taking me on so many road trips to watch college football and of course Yankee stadium.I will always treasure the autographed baseballs that he got for me signed by Mantle,Maris,Berra and all of my heroes.
When I first starting working at Lansing Bros,he taught me so much but most important, how to treat others.Every employee loved Bob.Regardless of their capacity,he respected everyone and treated them with class and dignity.I remember watching him utilize his artistic skills hand making signs at the first Huck Finn store on Western Ave.He was the Picasso of the magic marker.
When I returned from college,he had completed his studies to enter the insurance business. He was perfectly suited to be a success because people trusted him to do ,not what was in his best interest, but what worked for his clients and their families.
Whenever we were together,I so looked forward to our sharing our opinions about sports, family and life in general....yes,his humor was second to nobody...never loud, never showy but always on point.Fortunately,he left me and the family with so many wonderful memories.I will never forget the fun we had playing on the hill in the back of Aunt Ruth and Uncle Bob's house on Pinehurst Ave.
To Sherry and Karen...where did the time go?I know you and your families all know how much he loved you.The best thing I can feel on this sad day is that this year he will be able to watch his beloved Yankees in the World Series from the best seat in the house....I know I speak for my brother Reid and sister Barb when I say.....Love you Uncle Bob....missed but never forgotten
