Obituary of Mitchell S. Morris

 

Mitchell S. (Mitch) Morris, age 67 of Slingerlands, NY died suddenly on Friday evening, October 5, 2018.  Born and raised in Wantagh, NY, Mitch had a love for music and played in his high school band as well as a band called the Targets when he moved to Albany.  Mitch is a graduate from SUNY Albany and from the Albany Law School. At the time of his passing, Mitch was employed as an Attorney with the New York State Comptroller’s Office in Albany and recently received a 40 year award for his dedication and service.  He loved sports and was a great fan of the New York Mets, attending many games at Shea Stadium and Citi Field.  Mitch was also an avid New York Jets fan.

 

Mitch was most passionate about family and also a love for the law, politics and sports. He really enjoyed working with his many coworkers, as they shared a great office environment. Mitch was most known for his writing on competitive bidding.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Renee Warshaw Morris and was the extremely proud father of Bradley Morris of Schenectady. He was predeceased by his parents, Burt and Zena Morris. He is also survived by his many cousins.

 

Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 1pm. Interment will follow services in the Beth Emeth Cemetery in Loudonville, NY. Those wishing to remember Mitch in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Drive, Suite 100, Albany, NY 12205 or the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110. The family will be observing the traditional period of mourning privately.
