I was very sad to learn of Bertha's demise last year. That event was so close to the date of my mother, Ethel's, death, that I thought it must be something about their close friendship that made this coincidence almost exactly the same time, just two years apart. I've known Bertha (Bert, as my mother called her) almost my entire life, although I only really got to know her in the last 10-15 years before she passed away. She was a special lady; a fine artist, a sensitive soul and a great friend to my mother. We'll never forget her.

Aunt B was so delighted by this poem I wrote for her, she said she kept it with her always in her purse, which was very toughing to me. I will love her always and miss her so much.

My heart is hurting. There is a void that will never be replaced. Aunt Bertha was all about unconditional love. She was always there for me with her kind words and understanding. We were so fortunate to have had her in our lives. I will truly miss her, and always remember her with loving thoughts.

Annette and Ron, Although we weren't family, Bertha treated Donna and I as though we were. She touched so many lives with her generosity and kindness. I will always remember her with much fondness. My deepest condolences to the family. Rochelle and Chet

Annette, Ron, and Family Bert (as my mother, Ethel, called her) was one classy lady. She was a wonderful woman who was a close friend with Ethel and opened her heart to everyone I knew in Albany. She was dearly loved by my mother, my cousins and me. She will be missed, but remembered with fondness.
