Obituary of Bernice Karp
Bernice Meyers Karp (Bea) age 77 of Prospect Terrace in Albany died on Monday, April 1, 2013 at her residence. Born in Albany, Bea was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Albany High School and had been employed for many years as a faculty secretary at Albany Law School retiring in 1998. She was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany. She and her late husband, Eugene were the past recipients of the Pillars Award presented by the Albany Jewish Community Center. Bea enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching jeopardy. She will be remembered by friends and family for her confectionery delights, especially her pina colada cheesecakes
Bernice was married to Eugene Karp until his passing in 2008 She is the daughter of Irene Meyers of Albany and the late Hyman Meyers. . Loving Mother of Robert
(Claudia) Karp of Morristown, New Jersey and Suzi Nohai of Waterford, NY. Sister of Elaine Burrick of Albany and Barbara Heft of Warren, New Jersey. Sister in law of Beverly Lehrman and her husband Arthur of Raleigh, NC. Grandmother of Jenna McClosky of Albany and Nicolette Nohai. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Services at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road in Albany on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the Beth Emeth Cemetery in Loudonville, NY. The period of mourning will be observed at the Karp residence, 6 Prospect Terrace in Albany on Thursday following the service of interment and throughout the evening and on Friday until 12 noon. Those wishing to remember Bernice in a special way may make a memorial contribution to a charity of one's choice.
