Obituary of Milton A. Kotzin
Milton A. Kotzin age 90, passed away on Saturday evening , June 30 at the Daughters Of Sarah nursing home in Albany, New York. Milton was a life- long resident of Rochester. He was the second oldest of 4 brothers born to Philip and Sadie (Cohen) Kotzin. He is survived by his brothers Ezra and Gordon and predeceased by his brother Joseph. He was a devoted caregiver to his father who lived in a nursing home for many years.
As a young man, Milton delivered newspapers and worked in Naditz's bakery. For almost 50 years, he was an administrator at the Rochester Post Office. He was well respected by many for his work ethic, integrity and expertise on all things concerning mailing and stamps. He also worked for many years at the Yalowich Drug Store. For 66 years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Anne Okun Kotzin who survives him. He cared for her, without help, for the last several years, doing all he could to make her comfortable and happy. He was a member of Congregation Bnai Israel-Ahavas Achim and attended the daily minyan there as well as at Temple Beth El, until he was unable to do so due to Anne's illness. He enjoyed helping people in any way he could. Milton is survived by his daughter Karen ( Alan) Lobel, and Marshall (Dori) Kotzin. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Scott (Lauren ) Lobel, Deborah ( Nimrod) Shafran, Brian Lobel and Lygia and Evan Kotzin. He leaves two beautiful great-grandchildren, Natalie Lobel and Rami Shafran. The family would like to thank the staff at the Jewish Home of Rochester and the Daughters of Sarah home in Albany for the wonderful care he was given in both places.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 3 at the Britton Road Cemetery, Rhine Street section at 11 AM. Donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Shiva will be in Albany at the home of Karen and Alan Lobel, Wed , Thurs, and Sunday evenings at 7:30.
