Obituary of Stanley H. Metzner

Stanley H. Metzner, age 91 of Albany, New York died on Tuesday morning, December 27, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness. Born in Albany, Stanley was a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Anthony and Anna Fine Metzner. He was a graduate of Albany High School and Cornell University. Stanley volunteered to fight in World War 2 and saw combat in Europe and the Pacific. At the time of his passing, Stanley was Chairman Emeritus of Armory Garage. He had also been former President of CRADA as well as President of the American Lung Association. Stanley was a longtime member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany. Stanley was married to Eleanor Maistelman Metzner until her passing in 2005.He is survived by a daughter, Amy Aronson of Burke, Virginia, and sons, David Metzner and his wife Viktoria of Washington, DC , Scott Metzner and his wife Judith Gallent of NYC and Donald Metzner of Schodack, NY Grandfather of Joshua ( Danielle) Aronson, Amanda ( Ricardo) Seminario, Eli, Benjamin, Emma Sophie, Anna Eleanor, Lena Ariana and Alegra Justine Metzner. He was the great grandfather of Lila Suanne Aronson and Leonardo Adrian Seminario. Stanley was predeceased by a brother, Robert Metzner and a sister, Doris Rindsberg. He also leaves a sister in law, Gloria Herkowitz of Albany ( late Allan) and brother in law, Myron Rindsberg. Services at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road Albany on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 12 noon . Interment will follow services in the Beth Emeth Cemetery in Loudonville, NY.
