Obituary of Dr.. Judith H. Rettig
Delmar, New York
Dr. Judith H. Levine Rettig, age 93 of Delmar, NY died on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at her residence. Born in Philadelphia, Pa, She graduated from the Graetz College in Philadelphia,Temple University and received her medical degree from the Women’s Medical College in Philadelphia. She had been the Director of Medical Services for NYS Dept of Mental Retardation from 1968-1989, She was a preceptor in the Dept of Ethics and a member of the Admission Committee at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Rettig was a member of Temple Israel and Congregation Ohav Shalom both in Albany. She served on the Board of Jewish Family Services and the Board of the Theater Voices.
Dr. Rettig is survived by a son, Raphael (Ray) Ethan Rettig and his wife Christine Galvin of Voorheesville, NY. She was predeceased by her brother, Rabbi Reuben Levine and his wife Shirley
Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday
December 1, 2015 at the Temple Israel Cemetery on Western Avenue in Guilderland, NY. Those wishing to remember Dr. Rettig in a special way may make a memorial contribution to B’Yachad c/o Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208, Congregation Ohav Shalom, 113 New Krumkill Road, Albany, NY 12208 or Jewish Family Service, 877 Madison Avenue, Albany, NY 12208. Friends may call at the residence in Delmar following the service of interment on Tuesday.
