To Mark and family: We've lost the nicest, most gentle, person I can imagine. Bernie had such a fascination with the world around him -- he would find value in things that most people would pass over. He had that same excitement for his family, friends, even strangers; and it felt so good to be around him. That energy and affection will be terribly missed. -Aaron

I can write volumes of all the good times my late husband Bill and I, and many close friends from Lakeside Village, Florida , shared with Bernie. However one shared experience stands out the most.,......
It was Mark and Julie's wedding day in sunny California. "The Gang", who shall remain nameless, was waiting outside of Mark's home for the limo that would take us to his wedding. I will say, that "The Gang" consisted of highly intelliigent, interesting, vibrant and humble people. The limo was gorgeous, but a little too high for Bernie and me to get into. After much laughter and experimentation, one member of "The Gang", a woman, of course, ran to Mark's backyard, grapped the heavy, removable jacuzzi steps and placed them in front of the limo door. With much help, I climbed the several steps. I was then high enough for someone (hopefully, a good looking jock) to grab my ass and fling me into the back seat. Bernie, who had declared at least 5 times "I can do it" was helped up and somehow wound up on my lap. After the laughter subsided and we were all sitting up "properly" all heads turned to the limo bar. We all had a drink, including Bernie. As a matter of fact, Bernie had several alcoholic beverages that day, but that's another story! What a day, what a wedding, what a memory!!!!!

Julie and Mark. Condolences to you both. Times of tears and smiles. With Bernie you couldn't help but smile. His joy as he shared your wedding, his pride in his family, and his generous soul; what's not to love. We will all miss him here at the park, as well as, my extended family.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your Dad. Although I only met him at your wedding, he was so happy for you and Julie, and that happiness transcended to all. What a blessing that he was able to be a part of that day. Take comfort in knowing that his spirit and the memories you share will be with you forever.

Dear Mark, There are no words to express my sorrow at the death of your Father. Although I only knew him for a brief time it was always a pleasure to be around him and I know that he was very proud of you and so happy that you and Julie were married. It will take time but after a while you will be able to think of him and only remember the good times. He is in a better place now and he is with your Mother and they are happy again. Take care and be blessed.

The first time I met "Bernie" was the Rehearsal Dinner. Although not young in calendar years, his vitality for visiting his son, his enthusiasm for the wedding and his warm, engaging personality displayed a youthful energy. A few days later, when he met Ivette, pregnant at the time, he went out of his way to offer well-wishes, even though the day belonged to his son. Although Bernie will be missed, terribly so, his son exemplifies his characteristics, so, in many ways, his spirit will remain with us.

Mark, Sorry for your loss. I lost my dad many years ago and for whatever it's worth, a day doesn't go by that I don't think of him and all he taught me. A father's love is very special. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
