Dear Elise and family, Darryl and I were very saddened when we heard about Tom. We had such fond memories of him. I remember when we first met at Oxford Heights in the beginning of our new lives as young married couples. We played Pictionary at your apartment and had such a great time hanging out with you. We also enjoyed the yearly football parties at your home in Niskayuna. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers and we hope to hear from you. Our condolences.

Dear Dr. Perreault and family, Becky and I were so very sorry to hear the sad news of your husband's passing. We just found about Tom's death from Janet Kalogridis. Both of us being state attorneys we know very well of the high regard everyone had for Tom. We hope that as time goes by, the good memories of your life together will give you some solace. We wish you and your family only the best in this time of sorrow.

Ben, I am very sorry for the loss of your father. He was always a good man to talk to whenever he was at the pop-warner games or practices. I still remember all the oranges we would have at halftime thanks to him and your mother. I also remember him as one of the best spectators at any sport. He always knew what he was talking about and he would help you out if you didn't happen to know. Again I am very sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Stephen VanHoesen

Tom was well known as a quiet leader and a devoted civil servant, always giving 100% - a real Mensch. Those of us fortunate to co-facilitate training sessions or consult with him at DOT over the years counted ourselves blessed. He set a fine example of a “reasonable person’s standard” for others to emulate. Tom was consistently fair, open-minded, reliable and respectful in his communications. He will be missed by all, yet remembered with smiles. Diane Dembling, former DOT Trainer Emery Moore, DOT Office of Civil Rights

I am sure my reaction to Tom's premature passage is similar to that of the many who knew him and knew of him. He represented the very best at NYSDOT...extremely bright and knowledgeable , incredibly hard working and very personable. He was a leader in every sense of the word for as long as I knew him (which was most of his 20 years at the Department). I am so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. Tom will very deeply missed by the many that so thought so highly of him.

I am so sorry for the pain and heartbreak that you must be enduring during this time. I worked with Tom on a regular basis for legal advice regarding transportation issues. Tom was very thorough, knowledgeable and dependable. He always managed to thrown in his own humor during any conversation no matter how serious or controversial. He will be truly missed. If you need anything, please let me know as we are neighbors.
