Dear Mr. Shaye and Family, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. While I only had the pleasure of meeting her once, "Aunt Bea" was someone I knew to be very kind, loving, and generous. I truly believe these parts of her live on through you all, and will give you the strength for today and always. Please know that my thougths and prayers are with you. With deepest condolences, Kristen

Jerry & Family: I met Bea throuogh your cousin, Sherri many years ago at a luncheon at Take Japanese Restaurant near Memorial Hospital in Albany. I remember one of my first thoughts upon meeting Bea was that she was one of the most gracious ladies that I had ever met. She and your father, Sol Shaye, whom I had known from working at Coopers & Lyband years before, were two of the loveliest people I had ever had the pleasure of knowing. Sherrie and I speak of them both quite often and I know Bea will be greatly missed by her family and all those around her. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of great loss.

To my cousins, my "brothers" and my "sisters-in-law" & kids; You all know Aunt Bea was MY other mother for sure! The family gatherings were unforgettable and contributed to who I am!!(Chubby?) Aunt Bea always covered for me when I got busted for "roughhousing" by Uncle Sol, which was ALWAYS! Your mom always called me "Sar", or emphasized the first syllable of SA-RI when she greeted me -in person or by phone... it was a special greeting that only she gave me and made me feel so special!! I always loved seeing her and speaking and laughing with her - she ALWAYS had a tremendous beautiful smile, she was one of the happiest, sweetest people on the planet! I was fortunate to have had the time with her and to have grown up sharing the loving, fun, incredible Shaye household environment that she created in partnership with Sol. I used to come over kind of late and crash the kitchen when you boys weren't around and it was just us girls in the kitchen yakking and laughing...(and eating) I always knew where I could go to get a delicious meal - any time day or night! And that candy dish in the living room -- Aunt Bea always kept that puppy full... and speaking of animals, we'd always talk about Lewis' cat Thursday way back when - way before (most of us) were married and had kids...hysterical. Then later as we got older, never would a conversation pass when she wouldn't ask about the kids etc, she always took a genuine, loving keen interest in our lives. I was so excited when she and Sol came to visit me and my family in Michigan and i got to cook for HER for a change! Aunt Bea was the best, most loving Aunt anyone could have ever hoped for, she really was more like a second mother - but one that totally spoiled me! :) I miss you Auntie, I love you so much but I am glad you're with Sol and my mom & dad now. I love you boys and everybody, sorry I can't be there this weekend for you, but my love and prayers will be with all of you. Love, Sari

To the "Shaye Boys" and the entire family, You all know how much I loved my darling "Tanta". Throughout the years, whenever I would call her on the phone and say "Hello Tanta" I would hear her chuckle on the other end of the line. When I would come into the room and greet her the same way she would give me her biggest and brightest smile! She was an extension of my own mother, her sister Millie, and she was so much more to me than an aunt. She was my "Tanta" and I will carry her memory in my heart forever just as I do my parents and uncle Sol. Being with Bea was a joy and Steve and I will miss her greatly.
