Obituary of Rita Clayman

RITA COHN CLAYMAN Rita Cohn Clayman, age 98 of the Glen Eddy in Niskayuna, NY died on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Clayman was a lifelong Capital District resident. She was a graduate of the Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady and Russell Sage College, class of 1936. Rita had been employed by Schenectady County and the City of Schenectady Dept. of Social Services. She was later employed by the OD Heck Developmental Center retiring at age 70. She was a life member of Congregation Agudat Achim in Schenectady as well as a life member of Hadassah. Rita had been Past President of the Northeast Parent and Child Society in Schenectady. Rita was married to Abraham S. Clayman until his passing in 1971. Loving Mother of David Clayman and his wife Winni of Clifton Park, NY, Andrew Clayman and his wife Nancy Menkes of Montclair, NJ and Stephen Clayman and his wife Paula Chessin of Manchester, NH. Grandmother of Max, Harry, Molly, Elizabeth and Hannah Clayman. Rita was predeceased by 3 brothers, Dr.Milton Cohn, Morris Marshall Cohn, Myron J. Cohn and a sister, Elizabeth Weisberg. Mrs. Clayman's family would like to send their sincere appreciation to the staff at Glen Eddy, Hospice of Schenectady as well as the staff on the neurological floor at Ellis Hospital for their compassion and care. Services at Congregation Agudat Achim, 2117 Union Street in Schenectady, NY on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Agudat Achim Cemetery in Rotterdam, NY.
