Obituary of Rose Lichenstein
ROSE LAVIN LICHENSTEIN
Rose Lavin Lichenstein, age 85, died peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on February 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Rose was born and raised in Schenectady on July 9, 1926. She was a proud life long confirmed member of Congregation Agudat Achim and Women's Network as well as a former member of B'nai B'rith women.
Prior to her marriage to her beloved husband of 60 years, Irving, who predeceased her in 2011. She was the lead singer in a band and loved to dance.
Rose was a devoted wife and mother and only returned to work after her family was raised. She was employed by the New York State Higher Education Service Corporation retiring several years ago.
In addition to her husband, Rose was predeceased by her sisters, Hilda Wohmuth, Ronnie Kaplan and her brother Wallace Lavin
She was the loving mother and best friend of of Patti MacGregor (William) of Niskayuna, Debra Beale (David) of Colonie, Jill Razzano (Sam) of Latham and Lori Lichenstein of Glenville and grandchildren, Rachel & Jeffrey MacGregor and Michael Razzano.
In addition Rose leaves two brothers, Morris (Henrietta) Lavin of California and Arthur (Elaine) Lavin of Niskayuna and special nephew, Larry (Janet) Kaplan of Loudonville.
A private graveside service was held at Agudat Achim Cemetery in Rotterdam at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Agudat Achim, 2117 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12309.
