Having met Jack for the first time in 2002, was like meeting a powerhouse filled with fact based knowledge, strength, conviction and commitment. Moving alongside of these wonderful, very energetic and seasoned attributes, was his spirit of unfeigned grace, diligence, forgiveness and humility. He was always apt to teach with a kind gentleness and he never strove to make his point. Jack was never to large to share what he felt was his here and again shortfalls, and his constructive admonishments were always laced with a grace that is truly very rare.
It did not take long at all to see that Jack had the most beautiful spirit of peace and hope for reconciliation - even with those of a different faith whose peers in times past had taunted him cruelly him for being Jewish. As it has been said - Jack was truly a 'bridge' for and of 'peace'; I have been blessed on many occasions to witness him walk across bridges others would have burned.
As time went on and our friendship developed, I was inwardly moved to tears on countless occasions because somehow Jack just knew I needed a word of encouragement - or that I needed to laugh. When I felt as though I was far to challenged to go on in a day - Jack had a special word - an inspiring comment or a joke to tell at absolutely just the right time.
Jack always bubbled with the great enthusiasm as he went to work to bring Jew's and christians together to share in supporting and loving Israel - and his contact list in both the Jewish and Christian community stands as a testimony of his heart and great willingness to cross lines to bring people together. Jack was always joyful to share these contacts and his arms were open wide one day at a time in inviting others to share in building the American Zionist boards. His perservance was truly amazing.
Having listened to Jack share his lifelong experiences and knowledge with so much culminating in seeing his fervent love for Israel in action, will remain a source of great inspiration for me and others.
I am going to miss Jack immensely - the lunches - the meeting's and movies at Journey - the many phone conversations on behalf of Israel - his absence at upcoming Nights to Honor Israel- his heavenly timed words of encouragement and altogether, his absence from this world as we know it to be. Jack was, and alongside him Harold Shugar, the greatest Jewish Zionist I have known. My hope is knowing one day we shall all see Jack again - and surely a blessed and joyful day this will be! Am Yisrael Chai Jack - the passion of your spirit, heart and soul that will guide and inspire many!

I first met Jack shortly after 911. My niece and I (in our simplistic and naive way) were seeking to find a way to show our support for Israel and unite the US and Israel in our mutual goals (which we believe is freedom and support for Israel). Miraculously our hopes seemed to mesh together with others in the community. And that is where we met first met Jack and many other wonderful Jewish people and likeminded Christians. We were (and still are) Christian Zionist. Jack welcomed us with warmth, dignity and respect. In reality we were just a couple of nobodies and Jack saw more in us than we saw in ourselves. He motivated and inspired us to move ahead in the formation of the rally and the rightness of the cause. After the rally, Jack continued to encourage us to be activist for the Zionist cause in any way that we could. Through the years, Jack shared with us stories of how Christians in his youth abused him and we couldn't understand how he could still be so warm and willing to open his arms and heart to the Christian community. I guess what it comes down to is that he saw more in them as well. But, his willingness to see more in the Christian community has, in my eyes, served to unite and build bridges and between the Jewish and Christian communities. I have never met anyone like Jack before. He was funny, diplomatic, hopeful, hospitable, gracious and a wonderful motivator. I will miss his daily emails. I will miss him inviting us to be more active for Israel. I will miss him. A great light in my eyes is gone from our view, but not from eternity. Jack would want us to carry on that light, and I pray for the strength and courage to do just that. Peace and love to all Jacks friends and family. May his goals continue through us all.

Dear Ruth and Family, I cannot begin to express to you my deepest sorrow at learning of Jack's sudden passing. The brightest of lights has left our world as we know it. But, I believe that he has left you - and all who were honored to know him - an unmistakable light of truth, courage, inspiration, hope and love. This light will remain kindled in our hearts and souls and will, I am sure, inspire us and guide us in many ways until we one day see him again. I pray that you will daily be strengthened as you embrace the legacy of the great love he had for you and for his beloved Israel. Jack's love for you is eternal; may your memories of him in this comfort you each and everyday. G-d bless and comfort you, and may the ever burning light of G-d's love brought to you in the wonderful and remarkable person of - Jack David Lauber - bring you abundant peace and joy.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my old friend and associate Jack Lauber. We have worked shoulder to shoulder since 1983 trying to convince the public that waste disposed by us humans is a resource which should not be wasted, and nothing should be landfilled which could be used to generate power and heat. Jack was indifatigable in carrying on this mission all these years. He will be sorely missed, and hopefully others will carry on where he left off. Every one who knew Jack knew that he was a very special person. I do not know how many hundreds of people Jack taught, listened to, learned from, and otherwise interacted with, but I have no doubt that each of them - each of us - has been changed for the better by those interactions. Jack's combination of intellect, passion, tenacity, sense of humor, and joie de vivre were unparalleled. I join with everyone reading this is offering my deep and sincere condolences to Jack's family. May his memory be a blessing.

I came to know Jack only recently, and only on the phone, but I liked and respected him immediately. He was intensely helpful in our early efforts to organize opposition to the proposed Ground Zero mosque. I am grieved to learn of his passing. Please convey to his family our sincere condolences. He will be greatly missed. May his soul find repose beneath the throne of G-d.

I am greatly saddened by Jacks passing. We were friends and colleagues for 40 years. A week never passed without us discussing scientific problems and the environment. He was a good friend. He lectured on air pollution in my classes at St. Rose College and SUNY Cobleskill. His passing leaves a gap in my life. I send my sympathy to Ruth and family Ward Stone
