Obituary of Harold Shpeen

DR. HAROLD SHPEEN SHPEEN Marlton, New Jersey Dr. Harold Shpeen, age 87 of Marlton, New Jersey died suddenly at his residence on Tuesday August 17, 2010. Dr. Shpeen was born in Glassboro, New Jersey. He was a graduate of Temple University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Shpeen practiced dentistry for over 40 years in Westmont, New Jersey and later in Cherry Hill. He taught dental administration at Camden County Community College School of Dental Hygiene and was a professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He was actively involved in numerous civic and professional organizations.Among them, Past President of Jewish Federation of New Jersey, Jewish Community Center of Southern New Jersey, the Jewish Housing Federation, the Bureau of Jewish Education and Southern New Jersey Dental Association. Dr, Shpeen served as a Captain in the US Army and had served on the board of the National Jewish Welfare Board. Dr. Shpeen was married to Judith ( nee Goodman) Shpeen for 52 years until her passing in 2002. He is survived by Rabbi Scott L. Shpeen ( the late Susan Shpeen) Senior Rabbi of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany and Dr. Stephen Shpeen, ( Sharon) and Mariam Feist ( Robert). Grandfather of Hilary, Samantha, Adam, Benjamin, Jacob and Max. He was also survived by his companion, Janet Arnold. Services at the Platt Memorial Chapel, Cherry Hill, New Jersey on Thursday, August 19th at 11:00am.
