Obituary of Stella Rothstein

ROTHSTEIN Albany, New York Stella Rothstein (Pallamallo), 99, died on July_7, 2010. Born in Brooklyn, NY she married Joseph Rothstein and had two children, Arnold and Bernice. As a young woman Stella worked in the garment industry in NYC.. She met her husband, Joe, who repaired industrial sewing machines at one of the factories. Joseph died in May of 1990. Stella is survived by her son Arnold of Altamont, NY, and his wife, Judy, two granddaughters, Lea DeBarbieris (Russell) of Sugar Land, TX and Sheryl Sturn (Jack) of Slingerlands, NY. There were four great grandchildren: Matthew, Lindsay and Michael, in Texas and Jacob in NY. Her daughter Bernice Gordon lives in Brooklyn, NY and has three children: Lee (Prudence), Jackie, and Mark. Lee's child, Janea, is the 5th great grandchild. After Stella married she was a homemaker. When she lived in Brooklyn she also volunteered at the Lighthouse for 17 years. When she and her husband moved to the Albany area she was active in senior citizen groups. Private services were held at the Beth Emeth Cemetery with the family in attendance.
