Obituary of Annette Routenberg

Albany, NY ROUTENBERG Annette Goldblatt Routenberg, age 87 of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany died on Sunday morning June 6, 2010 at the nursing home. Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Routenberg was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Morris and Rebecca Hershman Goldblatt. . Annette graduated from Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady and received her BA from Russell Sage College and her Master of Arts from the State University of New York System. . She taught 1st grade for many years in Schenectady and was retired. She was a member of Congregation Agudat Achim, Women's American O.R.T., NYS Retired Teachers Association, Schenectady Federation of Retired Teachers, Schenectady County Retired Teachers Association and Hadassah. Mrs. Routenberg was married to Samuel Routenberg until his passing in 1990. Loving Mother of Sharon Silverman of Halfmoon, NY and Dr. Larry Routenberg and his wife Rise of Niskayuna, NY. Grandmother of Rachel Pfanner ( Bob) , Melissa Routenberg- Breaud ( Colin) , Evan Routenberg and Robin Routenberg. Sister in law of Judy Gilbert and Norma Routenberg. Mrs. Routenberg was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Stewart Gilbert. Services at Congregation Agudat Achim, 2117 Union Street Schenectady, NY on Tuesday June 8, 2010 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Agudat Achim Cemetery in Rotterdam, NY. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Larry Routenberg, 1318 Fox Hollow Road, Niskayuna on Tuesday following the service of interment with a minyan service that evening at 7:00pm. The period of mourning will continue at the home of Sharon Silverman, 4 Camden Court in Halfmoon NY on Wednesday evening at 7:00pm and on Thursday and Sunday evenings returning to the Routenberg residence commencing at 7:00pm. Those wishing to remember Annette in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Congregation Agudat Achim.
