Obituary of Harry Alter

. Harry Philip Alter, 91, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Samuel Stratton VA Hospital in Albany. He was born in Brooklyn on April 20, 1919 and moved to Stamford, Conn. at the age of six months. Harry was the son of the late Isaac and Sarah Alter. Harry's family came before anything else in his life and he was a devoted son, husband, father, papa and great-grandfather. He also loved politics, the stock market, and the NY Mets. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Minnie Wunsch Alter and his brother, Alexander. Harry is survived by his daughters, Frances Pribish (David) and Gail Sacco (Joseph); his grandchildren, Jaime Watson (Kevin), Ian Herman (Elizabeth), Daniel and Claire Sacco; his two great-grandchildren as well as his nieces and nephews. A service will be held at the Leo P Gallagher & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. (www.leopgal-lagherstamford.com).
