Sorry to say it But only recently has news of Morris's Passing come to us. Peg and I often traveled with Morris on long haul train trips. We are members of the Mystic Valley Railway Soc. Morris would make his way from Home to New York City's Pen Station. Then wait there all night for the first AM Boston Train. He would wait there all night if needed to be present when our Group line up for another train trip. Washington DC, or Flagstaf, Az., Seattle, wa..etc. The last trip we all shared with Morris, we had to talk him into getting off the train in his home town train station so he did not need to re trace his steps back from Boston. Our group members helped him with his Suit Cases to the platform. He got a big round of hugs and hand shakes, and waves as we pulled out of the station. I beleive that was the last time we traveled together. He will be missed and his spot will not be filled. Rest in Peace, and thank you again for your service to America in the US ARMY.

I have been working for CDTA as a Bus Operator and Morris has always been a great customer. He was always telling me and other drivers of his times as a young person who loved his trains. He loved traveling by train all over and loved telling his life stories. He always waved to all of us drivers everyday. He was a unique person and he will be missed. Peggy Yetman

I knew Morris, but not very well. For a while we both belonged to the same chapter of a railroad historical society. Morris would take the train from Schenectady to meetings and the annual Banquet, and made a point of taking the first run of the new Amtrak service to Rutland. His knowledge of all things Railroad related was truly encyclopedic. As I didn't know Morris very well, I never knew we shared the Vietnam experience. This Shabbat I will say Kaddish for Morris, who is finally at peace.

We are very sorry to hear about Morris. He was a really good person, not a mean bone in his body. I met Morris back in about 1970, found him to be as enthusiastic about the Railroad as I am, and a genial guy to talk to. My condolences to his family and friends.

I got to know Morris through our mutual interest in trains and railroads. We were both members of the Mohawk and Hudson Chapter of the National Railway Historic Society. I believe the only times Morris ever missed any of our regular meetings was when he was either not feeling well, or traveling on one of his many cross country rail trips or railfan excursions. He could instantly recall the wheel arrangement and identification number of every steam engine he had ever ridden behind on an excursion, and joined us on many of our Chapter trips.
He was a unique and compassionate individual who was sometimes misunderstood by those who did not know him well. He suffered greatly in recent years due to the tragic loss of his home and a more recent bus accident that hindered his mobility, yet he still managed to attend our meetings. He will be missed and remembered by his fellow Chapter members.

I was heart broken to see that Morris died. Morris and I were classmates at Mont Pleasant High School and graduated in 1962. He was shy of 2 years from attending his 50th class reunion. We also worked at GE. Again, I am sorry to see that he passed away. Railroading will miss him also.
