I only met Richard recently to do a repair job for him and I could tell he was a good person because he was surrounded by good friends. Having lost my Dad many years ago to cancer and a wife to an accident, I know too well what the family is experiencing. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends during this time. Remember God is our rock to lean on during these and all times. Lawrence

Dear Karen and Family, Richard was such a special person. He was sensitive, kind and thoughtful. He was specially nice when we our son got into trouble. Rich took us to lunch to talk about how his firm could help. He was very bright and intuitive and offered us ways in which he could help Matthew. As you know Rich was one of Steve's outstanding students if not the best. Rich was a straight A student and the only A- he received was from Steve which Steve has confessed was one of his biggest mistakes. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy. Rich will be remembered and missed by all those people he touched . Roberta and Steve Berk

It was many years ago that Rich and I served as leaders of the Cub Scout Pack at the Hebrew Day School, but I clearly remember his ever-present smile, constant encouragement, and calm demeaner. Although we haven't remained in touch, I am deeply sorrowed to hear of his passing. He will be sorely missed by the many people whose lives he enriched.

Rich welcomed me with open arms as I came to Albany to lead one of his passionate projects....The Palace Theatre. In just a short period of time, I grew to admire and appreciate the intellect as well as the compassion of this great man. He has a significant influence on me in just the short time I knew him, but that influence will last my entire life. He will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends. God Bless.

Rich was wonderful person and a truly great lawyer--one of the very smartest and reasonable to ply his trade in Albany. He was always a "big picture guy" who never lost sight of what was important in court and life generally. His laconic voicemail was one of my favorites: "please leave word". And who can forget his trademark greeting: "peace". It will be difficult to walk down Pearl Street knowing we will no longer have the good fortune to encounter Rich and share a laugh or interesting story. My condolences to all his family and I wish you all the best in dealing with this heavy loss. God bless.

Lois, Jonathan & Sammy, We will always remember Rich's love of family, genial personality, and professional brilliance. Your lifelong love and loyalty to Rich was your special gift, particularly your admirable devotion to him through these recent difficult weeks and months. He is in a better place now, the "Olam Ha Bah," which is "the world to come," where we will all reunite someday. May the passing of time enable all who so dearly loved him, find peace and comfort in God's warm embrace. Love, Steven, Ilene, Russel and Andrew.
