Obituary of Lenore Verdrager

LENORE VERDRAGER 1916-2010 Albany, NY VERDRAGER Lenore Friedman Verdrager, age 93 of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany died on Tuesday February 9, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Lenore resided in Niskayuna for many years and later moved to Assembly Point on Lake George and spent winters in Margate, Florida. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in Schenectady and their sisterhood. She was an avid traveler having visited, Greece, Israel, Portugal and Spain. She enjoyed outdoor activities especially skiing and swimming. Mrs. Verdrager's family was surprised when at age 80 she purchased a kayak which she used for several years thereafter. Lenore was married to Jack Verdrager for 60 years until his passing in 2002. Loving mother of C. Sandra Smith of Clifton Park, NY. Grandmother of Brian A. Smith and Emily M. Smith. She was predeceased by her son, Bruce M. Verdrager and her sister Margaret Radin. Services at Congregation Beth Israel, 2195 Eastern Parkway in Schenectady on Thursday February 11, 2010 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Beth Israel Cemetery on Abbottsford Road in Rotterdam, NY. Those wishing to remember Lenore in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Congregation Beth Israel. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Sandra Smith, 1 Easton Drive in Clifton Park, NY on Thursday and Saturday evenings.
