Dear Rhoda and Florence, It is with great sympathy that I send my condolences upon hearing of the loss of Fred. He was an amazing individual and always willing to lend a helping hand. His obituary lends remembrance of his numerous accomplishments, yet his character was the strength behind him as a person. And it is this that will be forever in my heart. Find peace in the assurance that Fred has gone to a better place and is most certainly serving in his fullest capacity among the angels in Heaven. Dear Florence, I just received the sad news via my daughter Barbara. I considered Fred and you among my best friends, and am grieved to hear of his passing. He was of course a renowned engineer and scientist, and I very much enjoyed working with him on several magnetics projects. He was a fine colleague, always very friendly and helpful and a pleasure to work with. But I also remember many pleasant social occasions I shared with him and with you, and Fred was always a warm and dependable friend. I am very sorry that I lost contact with you both after my move to Massachusetts over 20 years ago. Please accept my condolences for your loss and my best wishes to you and the children. Florence and family, I am so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He was one of the men that I truly admired at the Research Lab and as a friend. I was not alone in this admiration; he was widely admired and loved. He was a brilliant scientist and also a very kind and warm person. He often perked me up with encouraging comments.
