Obituary of Mollie Linden

MOLLIE FALKOW LINDEN Mollie Falkow Linden (nee Gingold), Sarasota, Fl, formerly of Albany, NY and Newport, R.I. died on Monday, November 23, 2009 in Sarasota, Florida. Survived by daughter, Jeanette (Jean) Falkow Andriesse and husband, Everett(Andy) of Sarasota, Fl and son, Dr. Stanley Falkow and wife Lucy Tompkins of Portola Valley, CA. 5 granddaughters and 4 great grand children. She is also survived by brother, Matthew Gingold of Rochester, NY and sister, Lena Gleckel of Albany, NY; stepdaughter, Barbara Meehan of Albany, NY, Stepsons, Harvey, Irwin and David Linden and their children.. She is preceded in death by first husband of 38 years, Jacob Falkow and second husband of 26 years, Jack Linden, both of Albany, NY. As a child she started working selling newspapers at her father's newstand in Albany, NY and worked most of her life in sales and eventually owned and operated her own shop, Mollies Lingerie and Corset Shop in Newport, R.I. Always an active volunteer, she was named Senior Citizen of the Year in New York State at the age of 94. She volunteered at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home and was active in the B'nai Brith Parkview Apartments Tenants Association in Albany. She was a member of Congregation Beth Abraham Jacob and Hadassah. Services at the Independent Benevolent Cemetery Chapel, Fuller Road, Guilderland, NY on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 2:30pm ( PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE).
