Obituary of Elizabeth A. Young

ELIZABETH ANN (BETSY) YOUNG EAST BERNE, NEW YORK Elizabeth Ann Young (Betsy), born on May 10, 1955 died on Wednesday November 18, 2009 at the Albany Medical Center. Betsy is the daughter of Mildred Brooks of Delmar, NY and the late Edward Brooks. Betsy spent much of her life in the health care field. Early in her career she was a home health care aide, caring for hospice patients. She went to college late in life, to become a registered nurse, graduating with honors at age 51. while working at Albany Medical Center. Taking care of her patients and her family was her greatest joys. She was a caregiver to all she knew. She loved being a mother and "Grammy", and was always there for her family giving them love and joy. She loved her cats, all who had been rescued throughout her life. She was an avid gardener both indoors and out. She touched the hearts of all those she knew, and went out of her way to help those in need. She is survived by her husband Kevin of 36 years, (her high-school sweet- heart), her loving daughter and son-in-law Kirsten and Kevin Mosley of Delmar, NY and her precious grandson, Nicholas, her brother and sister-in law, Bill and Carrie Brooks of Scotia, sister-in-law Liz Schulman of Tampa, Florida nieces, Jeslyn, Kara, Samantha, Carly and nephew Adam. Betsy is also survived by many friends, especially the fellow nurses at Albany Medical Center C-8. Betsy's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Albany Medical Center, C-8 for the care and kindness shown to Betsy and our family during her recent illness. A memorial service will be held at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue in Albany on Saturday December 12, 2009 at 11:00am.
