Albert Feldbin, 84 a lifelong resident of Coxsackie, died Sunday, November 8th at Albany Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Coxsackie on November 16, 1924 he was the son of Meyer and Adele Feldbin. A 1942 graduate of Coxsackie High School, Mr. Feldbin enlisted and served in the Army Air Corps in the South West Pacific. As a bombardier on B-24s he flew 23 missions from bases in New Guinea, The Philippine Islands and le Shima with the 43rd Bomb Group. After the war he served in staff positions in Japan and Korea and remained in the Air Force Reserve until 1957. Mr. Feldbin enjoyed outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, canoeing and camping and spent summers at his camp in Pottersville. He was a member of the 43rd Bomb Group Association and the Greene County Historical Society. Mr. Feldbin also had an avid interest in local history.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois Hoffman Feldbin; daughter Cheryl Needle of Pepperell, Ma; son Mark of Kingston, NY; granddaughters Hannah Aniceto (Jack) of Upton, Ma; Naomi Needle of Pepperell, Ma.and Rebecca Feldbin of Chattanooga, Tn; great grandchildren Max and Maia Aniceto and Zoe Kakuba, sister Sally Cohen husband of Joseph of St. Petersburg, Fl; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
In accordance with Jewish custom there will be no wake. A brief graveside service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Coxsackie, NY at 1:00pm on Tuesday. Friends and family are invited to the house at 104 Mansion Street after the service to celebrate his life. Those wishing to remember Albert in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Greene County Historical Society.
