Obituary of Thelma Kapner

THELMA "SWEETIE" KAPNER 1919-2009 Thelma "Sweetie" Kapner died at home in Albany on September 14, 2009. She was the beloved wife for 62 yeaars to the late Arthur Kapner who died June 2004. She was born in New York City on June 14, 1919 and graduated from the Milne School in 1937. Her love of canasta, mahjong, traveling with " The Saturday Night Group" and needle pointing played important roles in her life. Sweetie leaves her daughter Jill and her husband Willie Leamon of Massachusetts. She also leaves a nieces, Joan Signer and her husband Leonard of Ohio. She is also survived by her brother in law, Charles Kapner of Albany, his wife Florence and their daughter, Betsy Kapner. Of special note, she leaves Jill's best friend of 54 years, Carole Keith and her husband Richard- who she felt was a second daughter. She also leaves behind many loving support people who helped enrich her life in the years since her husband died. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life memorial service will be held on October 22, 2009 at 10:30am at Congregation Beth Emeth 100 Academy Road in Albany, NY.
