Obituary of George Gutterman
George Gutterman age 90 died on Friday October 1, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in New York City, George was a long time resident of Syosset until moving to Albany in 2004. George was a 1940 graduate of Clarkson College earning a degree in mechanical engineering and was a heat transfer engineer for most of his career. He served his country with honor during World War II (1941-1945) as a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Force. He was also a long time N.Y. Yankee fan. He will be remembered as being a strong, hardworking and extremely dedicated individual. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years, Lola Gutterman.
He is survived by his sons James (Karen) Gutterman of Selkirk, New York and Steven (Lily) Gutterman of Belle Mead, New Jersey. Also surviving are his grandsons Daniel, David, Robert and Joseph Gutterman and his great grandchildren Lenin and Halo Gutterman. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Matthew, Louis and Herman Gutterman.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday October 4, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Beth Moses Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
