Mary Fay Roth, 98 of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home in Albany, formerly of Quail Street died on Tuesday September 22, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in North Adams, Massachusetts, Mary was a Capital District resident most of her life. Mary was a member and active in Congregation Ohav Shalom in Albany. She was very involved with Bingo at Ohav Shalom. She was employed for many years by the Albany City Clerks Office.
She was married to Lewis Roth until his passing in 1988. Mary is survived by a son, Michael Roth and his wife Michelle of Clifton Park, NY and a daughter, Rosheila Davidson and her husband, Steve of Verona, New Jersey. Grandmother of Erica (Brandon) Johnson, Monica (Al) Salamida, Jason (Fabiana) Davidson, Jeffrey (Kellie) Davidson and Gregory Davidson. Mary also leaves 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Sidney Roth. Mary was predeceased by two brothers, Morris (Maz) Myerson and Ben Myerson as well as a sister, Thelma Maefsky.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Thursday September 24, 2009 at 1:30pm. Interment will follow in the Ohav Shalom Cemetery on Western Avenue in Guilderland, NY. Those wishing to remember Mary Fay in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Hilda Gordon Fund c/o Congregation Ohav Shalom 113 New Krumkill Road, Albany, NY 12208. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Michael and Michelle Roth, 16 Cherry Lane in Clifton Park, NY on Thursday following the service of interment and throughout the day on Friday and commencing on Saturday evening and continuing on Sunday until 1:00pm.
