Obituary of Lillian (Libby) Kollin

Lillian Libby Kollin KOLLIN Albany, NY Lillian (Libby) Kollin of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany formerly of the Massry Residence in Albany died on Monday evening August 17, 2009 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. Libby was born in Schenectady, NY on September 24, 1917 .and was the daughter of the late Meyer and Anna Hatkoff Paul. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in Schenectady and was employed at one time as a cashier at the Proctors Theater in Schenectady in the 1930's and 1940's. She later was employed by her brother, the late Dr. Nate Paul as a dental assistant in his office. She was a member of the Shaker Ridge Country Club in Colonie and enjoyed playing tennis and bridge. Libby resided in Schenectady, NY for many years and later moved to Albany. After leaving Albany she and her husband moved to Prescott, Arizona where they resided for many years prior to moving back to Albany. Libby was married to Stanley Kollin, who was an executive with the Civil Service Department in Albany. She is survived by her brother, George Paul of Guilderland, NY, her sister in law, Harriet (Jill) Paul, who was the wife of the late Dr, Nate Paul, a niece Myra Lynn Poor,(Terry) of Pittsford, Vt and a nephew, Lawrence (Susan) Paul. She is also survived by a grand niece, Wendy (Steve) Donachie and their children, Kayleigh and Breenan of Montgomery, NY and grand nephews, Mitch Paul of Montana , Adam Paul of Los Angeles, California and TJ Poor and his wife Kelly of Montpelier, Vt. A memorial service will be held at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue in Albany on Friday August 21, 2009 at the convenience of her family.. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. Those wishing to remember Libby in a special way may make a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice.
