Dear Mike,
Both Michael and I were so saddened to hear about the passing of your lovely wife. I know nothing we can say will be enough, but Barbara and you are in our daily meditation - prayer period. We pray that she is at peace and that you are comforted by the support and love of your family and friends. I recently watched a wonderful program about the universe. The astronomer who spoke reminded viewers that we are quite literally made of the stuff of stars and our beings return to the universe and the stars after death, so we live on in the memories of our loved ones, the genetic inheritance of our children and the energy and matter of the universe. It has given me an entirely different outlook on our existence. Look up to the stars and when you do, think of Barbara.

We will be sending a donation to the N.E. Parent & Child Society in Barbara's name.
WIth love and hope for the future,

Laura Mahlmeister and Michael Mahlmeister
Belmont, California

Barbara always made me feel welcome in her home and I will deeply miss our little chats over a cup of tea. She was a caring mother, a devoted wife and a loving friend. My sympathy and love go out to her family.

Barb was such a warm and wonderful person who lived every day she had. Mike, Lee, Danielle, and Janene, she loved all of you so much, and Evan was the light of her life! We met years ago through the Junior League, and although neither of us stayed with that organization, we formed a friendship that continued into our book club. I enjoyed hearing about her family, seeing her beautiful artwork, and learning about her volunteer work at Northeast Parent & Child. I admired so much her courage and love of life and family, and I will miss her.

Barbara enthusiastically joined my Communicative Creativity group at SUNY Buffalo, in working with our "little friends" who were physically and mentally hanadicapped she shared her love of art to help these children express themselves in a fun filled way. Barbara's enthusiasm and commitment were outstanding, only recently did I relize Barbara Siegel my friend and colleague from UB was now Barbara Kessler, the world is a better place because of her.

I will remember Barb as a warm, giving person. I met her at our Book Club reunions, several years ago. She had a good sense of humor, and curious and incisive mind. She will be missed. My condolences go to all her family and friends.
