Obituary of Blanche Ashkenas

BLANCHE ASHKENAS 1914 -2009 ALBANY, NY ASHKENAS Blanche Roth Ashkenas, age 94 of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, Albany, NY died on Tuesday evening, June 23, 2009 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home. Mrs. Ashkenas was born in Bronx, NY where she resided for many years later moving to Troy, NY. She had been a volunteer driver at one time for Jewish Family Services in Albany. She was married to Nathan Ashkenas until his passing. She is survived by one daughter, Iris Falk and her husband Chuck of North Greenbush, NY. Grandmother of Jason Falk of Brooklyn, NY and Natalie Falk of Voorheesville, NY. Graveside funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in the Beth Tephilah Cemetery, Troy, NY. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Ashkenas may be made to the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, 180 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203 or the Congregation Beth Emeth Religious School, 100 Academy Road, Albany, NY 12208.
