Obituary of Sophie Orfitelli

SOPHIE ORFITELLI Albany, NY ORFITELLI Sophie Kaplan Orfitelli of Tampa Avenue in Albany died on Sunday morning June 21, 2009 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany surrounded by her loving family. Sophie was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of the former Phillip Schuyler High School in Albany and was a homemaker. She was predeceased in 1985 by her husband, Nicholas Joseph Orfitelli. Loving Mother of Terry C. DeBrino and her husband Joseph of Rotterdam, NY, Diane L. Taber of Albany, NY and Victoria J. Geiger and her husband Alan also of Albany. Sister of Rose Weinblatt of New Jersey and Beatrice Yanku of Albany. Cherished grandmother of Ryan Debrino, Lauren DeBrino, Tara and Lisa Taber, Nichole Amszysnski and Jason Geiger. Great grandmother of Jayden DeBrino. Sophie was predeceased by her brother, Morris Kaplan. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue in Albany on Tuesday June 23, 2009 at 10:00am. Interment will be private at the convenience of her family. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Alan and Victoria Geiger, 39 Victoria Way in Albany (Whitehall Station) on Tuesday following the service of interment and on Wednesday and Thursday from 5-9pm.
