Burton Fisher age 84, died on Friday May 22, 2009 . Born in Brooklyn, New York on May 30, 1924 he graduated from South Side High School in Newark, New Jersey in 1942. Burt served in the United States Army during World War II. Following his service in the Army he resided in Sacramento, CA. and later returned to New Jersey where he married Joan Rottmann on November 18, 1951.
In 1954 Burt and Joan moved to Albany where Burt began working for Davis Acoustical. In 1958 he purchased Davis Acoustical and expanded its operations to include offices in Hartford, Detroit, Miami and Los Angeles. He was co-founder of the North Eastern Subcontractors Association, and served as it's president for 3 years. He served as president of the Empire State Subcontractors Association, the American Subcontractors Association and the Association of Walls and Ceilings International. Burt also served on the Board of Directors of Albany Memorial Hospital. Burt was a longtime member of the Scottish Rite Masons, the Free and Accepted Masons, the Cyprus Shriners and the Knights of Pythias. He was also a member of Congregation Beth Emeth. Among his greatest honors was the opportunity to meet with President Reagan on the Oval Office.
Burt is survived by h is wife Joan, his daughter Jill and his son Bradley (Carol) Fisher. Also surviving are is grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason and Michael Sack and Kimberly and Kelsey Fisher
Funeral services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m on Monday May 25, 2009 at the Mendleson Chapel on the Grounds of Beth Emeth Cemetery, Turner Lane, Loudonville, New York,
