HOWARD WARSHAW
1916- 2009
Howard Warshaw, 92 years old, died on Friday, May 8, 2009, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Howard was born and raised in Albany, New York and was a graduate of Albany High School.
Howard was a renowned story teller. He could strike up a conversation with anyone in any setting, which led him to choose a career path in sales. After his father's untimely death, Howard was a devoted caretaker to his mother, Ida, for many years. He had the good fortune to meet and marry the love of his life, the late Evelyn, with whom he shared a passion for music, dancing, traveling and family for 42 years.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Ruben, Howard was an active member and proud past president of Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob. He was a former amateur boxer and continued his love of sports throughout his life.
Howard is the beloved father of Renée Morris (Mitch) and Ilene Warshaw, and beloved grandfather of Bradley Morris. Howard was predeceased by his brother, Irving.
Private funeral services were held on Monday May 11, 2009. At the family's request, contributions in Howard's memory may be made to the National Cancer Institute, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892.
