Chaya Klinger, a long -time resident of Albany and in recent years of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away peacefully with her children by her side, on April 30th. She was the beloved wife of the late Zvi Klinger, whose loss she mourned since his death in December, 1986. A proud and unique Sabra, she was born June 22nd, 1922 in Tel- Aviv, Palestine, the daughter of the late Karpel Dereczynski and his late wife, Luba, and the older sister of her late brother, Avi. Chaya Klinger was part of the re-birth of the modern state of Israel, and took part in and witnessed history throughout her life.
She is survived by her beloved children, daughter Elyanah Pinchas of Centreville, Virginia and son, Gil Klinger of Sterling, Virginia, and by her son-in-law, Giora, grandchildren, Assaf, Sarit and Hila, and great grandchildren Maya and Sam. May she be of blessed memory.
Services at the Temple Israel Cemetery, Western Avenue Guilderland, NY on Sunday May 3, 2009 at 2:00pm.
