Obituary of Solomon Rubin
Solomon (Sol) Rubin died on Sunday April 19, 2009 at the Stratton V A Medical Center. Born in Schenectady, New York Sol later moved to Cobleskill where he was a life long resident. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1942 thru 1945. Sol was a member of the Cobleskill V.F.W, the Cobleskill Masons and the Cobleskill Exchange Club since 1957. Sol was a self employed farmer later becoming a cattle and farm equipment dealer. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in Schenectady.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bernice Rubin, his son Alan (Ingrid) Rubin and his daughter Rita Rubin. Also surviving is his brother Abe (Molly) Rubin, his sister Beatrice (Sidney) Wallace, sister-in-law Evelyn Rubin, his grandchildren Michael and Amy Rubin and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Albert Rubin.
Funeral services will be held at Congregation Beth Israel, 2195 Eastern Parkway, Schenectady, New York on Tuesday April 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery, Rotterdam, New York.
