Obituary of Elaine Rita Sokol

Elaine Sokol, 79, of Philadelphia and Levittown, PA, died peacefully February 13, at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany, NY, following a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Elaine was the loving and devoted wife of the late Dr. Sylvan Sokol. A loving and devoted mother, sister and grandmother, she is survived by daughters Faith Sokol of Seattle, WA, Shelley Sokol Justa (Stephen) of Albany, NY, and Ellen Sokol (Jean Claude Wyszynski) of Miami, FL; sister Arlene Cohen of Langhorne, sister-in-law Etty Gordon of Philadelphia, PA, grandsons Daniel Justa, Michael Justa and Remi Wyszynski, and several loving nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the caring nurses and staff at Daughters of Sarah, and Elaine's loving companion, Tracie Phalen. Funeral services will take place in Philadelphia Friday February 20. Shiva will be observed at the Justa home 137 Lenox Ave. Albany, NY Sunday, February 22, at 7:30 p.m., and Monday through Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, 180 Washington Avenue Extension, Albany, NY 12203 or the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
